This quote means that if you do something right, then that means that you will gain something good in life and you will experience that good thing in your life forever, but if you choose the wrong and everything you do is wrong, then that means that you will not gain anything in your life and the only thing that you want to gain will be lost in the progress because you did something bad. For example, if i didn't lie to my mom about something and said the truth, then that means that i will gain something good in life but also gain trust between the person you say the truth to, but if i lied to my mom, then that means that i wouldn't gain anything because i wasn't doing or even bother to choose the right in the situation but i could also loose something that i like because i did something wrong.
